COVID-19 Update:

The main office of North Alabama Center Educational Excellence (NACEE) remains open for business. However, due to the COVID-19 virus, we are taking measures to reduce unnecessary exposure and population density. Contact with the public will be conducted solely by telephone (256) 372-4600 and via email. We are still able to assist with student and veteran concerns regarding educational concerns, such as financial aid and online education platforms.

NACEE is continuously monitoring the impact of COVID-19 and adhering to CDC recommendations to ensure our work environment promotes health and safety to our employees. We have detailed plans in place to protect our personnel and limit the spread of disease. The majority of NACEE employees are working from home and any meetings with clients and/or coworkers are being done virtually. We have suspended all site-visits to our office from clients and partners. A core team of essential personnel has been established to ensure the decisions we make are based on the most current information and focused on the well-being of our employees, or clients, and our community.

The NACEE Board of Directors and Administration sends our thoughts and prayers to everyone who has been affected by COVID-19, and we are appreciative of the healthcare professionals who are attending to the sick and working tirelessly to contain the spread of this disease. Again, the health, well-being, and safety of our employees, students, clients, and partners and community remain our number one priority. For further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us via phone or email.

FAFSAs are now filed by appointment only. We no longer take walk-in clients.  Please call our office at 256-372-4600, if you need to schedule an appointment.

What is a WorkKeys Assessment?

ACT® WorkKeys® assessments are the cornerstone of the ACT workforce solutions. The assessments help you measure the workplace skills that can affect your job performance. WorkKeys assessments are:

  • Unique—Unlike other assessments, they don’t simply give an indication of reading and writing competency. Instead, they measure a range of hard and soft skills relevant to any occupation, at any level, and across industries.
  • Recognized—Successful completion of WorkKeys assessments can lead to earning an National Career Readiness Certificate® (NCRC®)—a credential that verifies foundational workplace skills. Tens of thousands of employers recognize the value of the NCRC, and many recommend the credential to candidates.

With WorkKeys, you’re in control. You can take the assessments on your own time, as many times as you want, and only share scores with employers when you’re ready. Each assessment offers varying levels of difficulty. The levels build on each other, incorporating the skills assessed at the previous levels. For example, at Level 5, individuals need the skills from Levels 3, 4, and 5. The complexity can also increase as the quantity and/or density of the information increases.
