By offering FREE services, it supports individuals from traditionally underrepresented communities, including those facing challenges related to income, disability, family educational background, and other relevant criteria set by federal, state, or institutional guidelines.
Through the EOC program, you’ll gain access to a wide range of resources designed to empower you on your educational journey. These services include:
  • Personalized guidance on exciting post-secondary opportunities tailored to your goals and aspirations
  • Career counseling and interactive workshops to help you explore your passions and career paths
  • Financial and economic literacy resources to help you navigate the cost of education with confidence
  • Support for students seeking alternatives like General Education Development (GED) programs or non-traditional education routes
  • Comprehensive financial aid guidance, including expert advice on securing funding for your education
  • Assistance with the FAFSA, the crucial step in unlocking federal student aid
  • College search help to match you with the right institution that aligns with your academic and personal needs

Financial Aid 101

Understanding the basics of financial aid is crucial for students aiming for higher education. Starting with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is key, as it determines your eligibility for federal funds and influences scholarship opportunities. If the aid offered doesn't fully cover expenses, exploring scholarships, both institutional and external, considering part-time work, and looking into payment plans are advisable steps to bridge the financial gap.
